The City of Pines has always been a haven for Filipinos who wanted to relax and enjoy the cold weather. Despite the number of tourists and the rise of students in the area, there are still places and times of the year when one can get away from the huge mass of people. The key to having a relaxing vacation is to find and select a nice quiet place to stay in, away from the bustling city and crowded district. So, whether you’re staying for a few days or for an extended period of time, Baguio is definitely the place to be.
There’s no better place in the Philippines for outdoor sports and recreational activities than in Baguio City. Here are some impressive lists of outdoor activities that you should not miss out.

Running & Walking

While walking, people will take closer notice of Baguio’s nature and environment which can develop a personal appreciation for the city. Of course, Baguio provides the best places for running and walking in the Philippines, not to mention the slopes and high altitude is perfect for your overall well-being. Some of the favorite jogging paths are Burnham Park, South Drive, and Leonard Wood Road. Biking

Mountain biking is a favorite outdoor activity here in Baguio. So, if you’re planning to bring your personal bike with you, there are a lot of places you can explore. Just don’t forget all the necessary protective gear. Baguio City is one of those locations you would definitely want to visit with the thought of rediscovering the city’s beautiful and beloved sights by the use of a bicycle.
Camp John Hay is a popular spot for biking. Though the camp doesn’t usually allow cyclists within their grounds, I only wish Camp John Hay would let bikers in on a regular basis. There are far fewer vehicles in Camp John Hay than on Baguio’s public roads, and the area represents the very best of the city’s hills, pine trees, and the charming mountain views.

Golf

Baguio has the perfect weather condition for golf courses in the Philippines. And we have two very popular ones. The one at Camp John Hay and Baguio Country Club.
Camp John Hay has a full golf cart path and a driving range. The placeannually co-hosts the Fil-Am Golf Tournament, which is an excellent golf course in the city and is undoubtedly one of the most popular in the Philippines. Basically, the Fil-Am Invitational tournament is the longest running amateur golf event in the Philippines, wherein golf enthusiasts coming from all over the world can participate. Both Camp John Hay and Baguio Country Club are private membership clubs, although arrangements can be made for those who are non-members to play for a limited period during their visit to the City of Pines.

Horseback-riding

Enjoy and experience horseback riding with one of Baguio City’s famous Wright Park. There are many horses to choose from, and you can get a tour outside the place. The area is definitely a place to worth visiting too.
Wright Park is still comparatively cheap than other horseback riding experiences in other tourist destinations in the Philippines, like Subic or Tagaytay, where horse rides are offered too. However, the temperature here is way cooler, perfect for exploring the surrounding hills of Baguio or just traveling around the Riding Circle. Usually, horses here in the Philippines cannot take the heat of high noon, but in Baguio City, horses can be ridden for hours of the day.

Exercise & Fitness

For hundreds of Baguio residents who want to loosen up a little, the solution is simple, get into your jogging attire, put on your running shoes and head towards Burnham Park. Once you’re there, you will find several activities that will definitely burn those calories, move your body and at the same time, enjoy the fresh cool air.
There are free aerobics and tai chi exercise sessions on Burnham Park during early mornings. Zumba and Taebo groups have also appeared around Burnham Park. If you came early enough, you can join a certain group as they start their morning Zumba or Taebo routine. All the instructors have been doing these types of exercises for years now, and you can be sure that you can burn those calories the right way through the Zumba dance moves and Taebo Martial Arts moves. But don’t forget to stretch before you start any physical fitness activities.

Other Fun Activities

Tree Top Adventure, located in Camp John Hay, offers its visitors to experience Baguio’s view like no other, going from 100-feet above the ground. Tree Top Adventure offers two options. First of all, the fast track rides, which will definitely raise your blood and pump-up your adrenaline, not for the faint of heart, and 2) the slow-paced chill rides which will still give you the sense of high without giving you the heart attack. The 30 to 45-minute canopy trip was composed of 8 stations including. Tree Top Adventure’s highest point which is 100-feet above the ground. The experience was definitely more than what we paid for. There are also other fun activities you can try like paintball, zip line and rock climbing wall all available at Camp John Hay.
