Aside from being one of the top tourist destinations in the Philippines, Baguio City is also the North’s center of education. In fact, according to the July 2019 ranking from Webometrics, four of Baguio’s prime Universities are among the country’s top 100 schools. Saint Louis University – Top 15

Saint Louis University started out as a one-room classroom back in 1911. Now, it is the largest university in Baguio City with four campuses. It is also the university with the most students as it caters to around 30,000 students yearly. SLU is widely known for its performance in Medicine, Engineering, Architecture, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Technology, Law, and Teacher Education.

University of the Philippines Baguio – Top 38

The University of the Philippines Baguio or more commonly known as UPB is the seventh constituent university of the UP system. It is most known for its science programs where three out of five – biology, mathematics, and physics – are recognized by CHED as national centers of excellence/development. UPB is also the only school among all the Baguio universities that offers fine arts courses.

University of the Cordilleras – Top 62

The University of the Cordilleras or UC was founded by the Salvosas in 1946 after World War II. It was previously known as the Baguio Colleges Foundation, but it was renamed after achieving full university status in 2003. It is the only university here operating on a trimester program and it is one of the fastest-growing universities of the city which now caters to around 21,000 students. UC is most known as centers of excellence for Information Technology, Criminology, and Teacher Education.

The University of Baguio or UB is privately owned by the Bautista family. It initially started at only 80 students but now, that number has grown to around 20,000 students from its preparatory levels to college levels. It is a center of development and excellence in Teacher Education and Criminology. It is also the only university in the city that offers a physical therapy course.
