Living in Baguio: Your Guide to Adjusting to a New Life

Living in Baguio City can be a lot different than the life you have in Manila or any other place. A lot of adjustments need to be made. This is true wherever you go. But, to experience the city in its full potential, here are some things you need to do to adjust smoothly to a new life in Baguio City.

Go out and familiarize yourself

Know the nearby stores and restaurants around your place and the stores where you can buy medicine, school or office supplies, and other necessities. This will be helpful because in case of any emergency, you’ll know where you can get the things you need. It is also good if you know their opening and closing times.

Learn how to go around the City

Baguio Transportation

Make sure to take note of the jeepneys that pass by your area, know where their station is and how much you need to pay. If you are unfamiliar with the jeepney trips, you’ll get broke by riding the cab, or your feet will be sore because of walking.

Get used to cold water in the shower

Baguio water is mostly always cold. Remember, not all bathrooms have a hot shower. If you can’t get used to it, you’ll have to spend a lot of time heating your water before taking a bath.

Visit the market and cook your meals

Baguio Market

You can even buy your own coffee beans and make your own coffee at home!

Don’t miss out on the Baguio nightlife

Whether it’s the party or the night market, make sure you go out at night every once in a while.  There’s a lot you can do in Baguio during the evening, so make sure you explore!
