Besides being the Summer Capital of the Philippines, Baguio City is best known for its Ukay-Ukay industry. The term Ukay-Ukay comes from the Filipino word Halukay which means to look through items in search of one particular item. Ukay-Ukay is an industry that began in the city and has since been part of Filipino Culture.

Places

The Harrison Road Night Market is perhaps the most iconic of all Ukay-Ukay spots. That being said, there are other places in the City of Pines where one can find the best Ukay-Ukay deals they could ever dream of. Here are some of the best Ukay-Ukay spots in Baguio.

Baguio City Market Block 3&4

Fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, and items for Pasalubong aren’t the only things you can find at the Baguio City Public Market. There, you will discover Block 3&4, home to various Ukay-Ukay stalls that sell clothing, shoes, and other items. To get to Block 3&4 from Session Road, walk straight down and use the overpass at the Harrison Road intersection. Take the stairs that go towards Kayang Street and turn left to enter the roofed area which is Block 3. Block 4 is above Block 3.

Bayanihan Building

The Bayanihan Building is a Commonwealth-era building that used to be the headquarters of the Japanese Kempetai during World War II. It was repurposed into a Hotel during the 1950s. Today, the vintage building is now an Ukay-Ukay center in the city. To reach Bayanihan Building from Session Road, walk straight down and use the overpass at the Harrison Road intersection. Take the stairs that lead down Igorot Park and walk until you reach the pedestrian lane to Bayanihan.

Skyworld

Before the 1990 Earthquake, Skyworld was an 8-story commercial building at Session Road. Now, it is the most accessible Ukay-Ukay spot in the city. Skyworld Commercial Center is located at Session Road Corner Calderon Street. It is beside Vizcos then Greenwich.
